Rusty (MS-DOS) - Intro and first stage
15Rusty is one of the most well-known titles for the NEC PC-9801 computer series, but did you know that there's an MS-DOS version as well?
The only difference the MS-DOS version has is the sound, which is definitely inferior to the PC-9801 version. The voice samples are completely absent, the remaining sound effects don't sound nearly as good, and the music is a bit thinner/weaker overall IMO (with a few execptions)
Unfortunately, Rusty crashed after the stage 1 boss. It tends to crash whenever it has to display text after the first cutscene. When it doesn't crash, it'll display garbage text instead. The farthest I've gotten without Rusty crashing is after the stage 4 boss. I'm not sure if this is a problem with my download copy or with DOSBox; the game is far more likely to crash if I increase the number of CPU cycles in DOSBox (but doing that eliminates all the slowdown!)
