Ryan Reynolds comments in on Emmy issues.
Reynolds and McElhenney's co-produced Welcome to Wrexham provided an insight into the Welsh football club. The docuseries just won many Emmy Awards, but the performers were unable to attend the prestigious celebration.
For their acceptance speech, the stars took to Instagram, posting a video that began with Rob expressing his thanks for the achievement and noting that he has'many people to thank'.
But before the producer could finish his remarks, Reynolds, wearing a Deadpool mask and holding a shattered Emmy, interrupted him.
"Mr. Lively couldn't be here to accept this broken Emmy, so he sent me on his behalf," that's what he stated at the moment.
Both Wrexham owners recorded videos expressing thanks and laughter, but Reynolds had some more behind-the-scenes anecdotes to tell.
The actor and film producer subsequently posted another update on his Instagram account, saying, "In order to receive the Emmys for Welcome to Wrexham, I needed to borrow someone else's, so I phoned Hugh. Unsurprisingly, he was unsure whether he had an Emmy.
"It turns out he does. He hands it to me and says, 'Is it intended to look like that?' It is not. It has broken. "I love this man," he said.
Ryan revealed that when he borrowed the trophy from his buddy, it had already been shattered, and the globe that was intended to be connected was dangling from its arms.
