Love these latches!!
We have used different child proof locks and these are the best!! We just keep the key on the side of the refrigerator, so it's always handy when we need it, AND there is another one on the side of the washing machine for the cabinets in the laundry room. The main reason for buying these locks is to keep the doors of the upper cabinets closed in case of an earthquake, as I would prefer not to lose my dishes or have to clean up the broken glass. We don't have many in our area, but we keep hearing about the chance of a larger quake. And being proactive, we bought a few sets of these and installed them on the top cabinets in the kitchen and laundry room. Once you get used to having to use the key to open the cabinet door, it becomes routine to just reach for the key to open it. And when I go to another house, I always hesitate before I reach to open the cabinet door, thinking if I need the key or not.
