Tornavolt's Storm looms on the horizon, and the Captain of the Mad Dragons has been freed from his prison. Together with his crew and a devoted group of cultists, he seeks to harness the power of this everlasting storm and rule over the Monarchs of the Sky. To stop them, three heroes must journey to the highest peak of the Monarchs, and prevent the Captain from channeling the storm’s full power. Will the Monarchs be forced to yield before the Captains newfound strength, or will the heroes put a stop to the Mad Dragons, and protect the realm from their tyranny? Can good prevail?

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to present to you all Sails in the Sky!

This is an EP that consists of songs that I wrote for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I ran last summer. Each of these songs served a purpose in the narrative of the story, and I played them on loop in the background during certain sequences. I think that these songs are my greatest achievements as a musician so far, and I am so incredibly happy that I finally have them all out to you guys! If you guys enjoy this music, please feel free to use these songs in your own personal TTRPG campaigns! Since I have the ability to here in the description, I wanted to take the opportunity to nerd out a little bit about the lore of the campaign :))

LORE:

All known civilizations reside on the backs of colossal Sky Monarchs. These gargantuan creatures come in the forms of Turtles, Whales, Eagles, and Dragons. There are four of each species (with one exception), and those of the same species fly close together. The people living on these Sky Monarchs have known of each other's existence for centuries. However, only within the past 150-200 years has technology and magic advanced enough to allow commoners to travel between the different species of Sky Monarchs. Depending on the departure point and destination, travel between Monarchs can sometimes take months.

This campaign's setting is among the Turtle Monarchs. The four Turtle Monarchs always travel together, maintaining a vast distance between them but always remaining visible to the human eye. Starting 600 years ago, advancements in flying boats and magic have made travel between Turtle Monarchs more accessible, with journeys taking at most a week, depending on weather conditions and the distance between the Monarchs.

Northern Turtle Monarch: Stratomydas
This Monarch is the most populated of the four, and is primarily consists of open fields, farmlands, and forests. It has massive exports in lumber and farm based materials.

Eastern Turtle Monarch: Nimbonator
Easily the most hot and humid Monarch all year round, making it a popular vacation spot. The ocean takes up most of the available space on Nimbonator, with the remaining area being beaches, mangroves, swaps, and other tropical locations.

Western Turtle Monarch: Kempinimbus
This Monarch is home to vast and snowy mountain ranges, and has a large and thriving economy based on ore extraction. Kempinimbus is home to the highest peak of all the Monarchs.

Southern Turtle Monarch: Cumucaretta
The smallest of the Turtle Monarchs, but also the mightiest. Most of the militant groups lead their training here due to the harsher conditions and more dangerous monsters that roam around Cumucaretta.

500 years ago, a uniquely powerful Elder Tempest named Tornavolt, attacked the Sky Monarchs, resulting in the death of one of the Dragon Monarchs. It took the combined strength of the Sky Monarchs mightiest heroes to defeat it. Upon Tonarvolts death, an eternal storm imbued with the remnants of its soul appeared where it was slain. It has winds so strong that it pushes and pulls the Monarchs themselves.

If you have made it this far, thank you for reading and listening. Your interest and support mean the absolute world to me, thank you so so much❤ ️
