Rumbleminze just released their Salamander SNES port / Lifeforce SNES por and wow is it now IMO the best version of the original Salamnder you could possibly play outside of the arcade original! No more slowdown, no more sprite flickering, a ton of different soundtracks...and the same Konami Salamander fun!
