Salt and Sanctuary was developed by the Award Winning Ska Studios, for PC and PS4. It is a tribute to both Dark Souls and games like Metroid and Castlevania. It has a beautiful, if bleak, art style that has a dark and atmospheric taste. The 2d action is fast and melds well with the RPG elements. The in-game systems allows for a rather large level of crafting.
A doomed sailor is shipwrecked and lands on an uncharted island. Through dreary villages, cavernous castles, and deadly dungeons, the player will quest through these locations and more in a desperate attempt to escape the island which serves as imprisonment.
