Well here we are! It's Neo Geo series time! Because damn it...it's my favorite retro gaming platform of all time and I've been collecting for the Neo Geo AES for years! Up next: Samurai Shodown II, also known as Samurai Spirits II in Japan. SNK decided to pivot from the standard 2D fighting games they were known for with Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting and created a fighting game classic with the Samurai Shodown series. Gone were fists and kicks, replaced with weapons based fighting game combat. I had to pick ONE Samurai Shodown game to talk about on this Neo Geo retro gaming retrospective...so it was Sam Sho II. The parry system alone inspired Street Fighter III so you know SNK was onto something in the fighting game genre in arcades if Capcom took notice!
