If you have never heard of VM Labs NUON...don't feel bad! You'd have had to have been into reading gaming retro gaming magazines back in the late 90s to have seen the hype train for this supposed "Playstation and Nintendo Killer". While the NUON was an abject failure...the concept behind its marketing and sales was actually pretty genius! But retrogaming is littered with failed consoles...so let's take a look at NUON!

So this hardware overview and brief history lesson / gameplay demo reel of the NUON is a test to see if you want more NUON content...as I need to find a controller for my unit! The Nuon was a trojan horse console...ship a chip in a DVD player that allowed for gaming and get market share quickly! Genius if it worked...but it DIDNT WORK! VM Labs ran out of money during the launch and marketing was basically non existent.

It was made by a lot of the same team of business people and hardware developers that worked on the Atari Jaguar so a lot of people consider this to be the true Atari Jaguar 2! Plus it has Tempest 3000...so that sells the connection!

This is Part 2! I told everyone if I got enough comments asking for more NUON content I would get some controllers and games and do a series...and guess what I did? I like to keep my word after all :)
