An impressive collection of military medals has gone under the hammer at Bonhams auctioneers in London. They include The Queen's Gallantry Medal which was awarded to SAS Sergeant Tommy Palmer for his part in storming the besieged Iranian Embassy in 1980. Medals and logbooks belonging to an extraordinary Second World War pilot have also been sold for well above what was expected.
