Savages - "I Am Here" Resonant Frequency Recording
The concept of this session stems from composer Alvin Lucier's piece I Am Sitting In A Room.
This track illustrates how Savages' music was used to reveal the resonant frequencies of a recording space. Savages recorded a live performance of "I Am Here". This was then played back into the space while in turn being recorded. This process was repeated for a total of ten times. As each cycle of the song is played back into the room, you can hear the resonant frequency of the recording space emerge, and eventually take over the recording. By the final cycle, all that can be heard is the drone of the recording space, modulated by Savages' performance. This recording features each cycle of the process.
