Saving Taro - Kena: Bridge of Spirits Part 7
0I cried. Yep. I didn't think that I would, but I did. Why? Because this part of the game not only tells, but shows, such a sweet and tender reunion between an older brother and his younger siblings. Circumstance separated them, death separated them, and in the time we've been here in this valley, Kena has bridged that abyss and brought this family together again. Finally at peace, they go together into the world of spirits, where awaiting them with longing hearts are the parents so abruptly taken from them.
It is not often that games choose to portray scenes such as these, nor evoke emotion in the player such as Kena: Bridge of Spirits is doing. One of the things I adore about a well made, and well told, story is that it envelops you, it teaches you, it gives you experiences that you otherwise would never have had, and you come out the other side better for it. Death is a real thing in our world, just as it is in the world we are experiencing through Kena's eyes. Pain and sorrow from unresolved events carries on, a truth we know all but too well, yet to have an individual fight to resolve another's conflict and put at rest those who can find none, can only be awarded the title of 'hero' in every aspect that word might signify. Kena has and will continue to impress me. There is more than meets the eye here, and when stories teach lessons, those are the ones that make a lasting impact.
