"Schmal" Review | The Long Bark - A Critique of The Long Dark (Survival/Wintermute)
Twenty three minutes of barking about what makes The Long Dark so captivating of an experience as well as what makes its take on the survival genre mesmerizing. While not a flawless masterpiece (or feature complete), the Long Dark is the standard other survival games should be held to if we are to go beyond their limitations. It's not the constant action or the act of surviving that makes the game so captivating; it's the escalating serenity and your thoughts in the silence while traversing the quiet apocalypse.

Considering this is my second attempt at making critique videos after several years, I'm well aware there are going to be issues. Some choices here were more experimental than others, audio or visual editing techniques, so any constructive criticism would be appreciated. (I'm well aware my voice sounds monotone, but I chose to focus on clear enunciation rather than talking quickly, so I hope the writing and the tidbits of humor keep it engaging.) As always, please be respectful and I shall extend the same courtesy; act like a troll and I'll enjoy laughing with you in all good spirits.
Although I had mentioned I was using this review to test out a review copy of Go Play Editor, I decided to purchase a small subscription after hearing no word from them. It's only something I am mentioning for any disclosures about the video.
If you wish to see more content for me, I have over 200 written reviews available on my Steam curator page (8K characters, usually; this video was 21K characters), so there is plenty to keep you occupied while I figure out how often I can put out video content in the foreseeable future.

Now with all this information out of the way, you be the judge whether my bark was all one long lark about the Long Dark? (Hark! I cry alliteration!)
