Šcorpion vz. 61
The CZ vz 61 Skorpion is a Czechoslovak machine pistol that was developed in 1959 and produced from 1963 to 1979. It fires the .32 ACP cartridge from a 10 or 20-round magazine and has a folding wire stock. It was designed for use by security forces and special units, but also served as a personal sidearm for some army personnel. It is a compact and reliable weapon that can be easily suppressed and concealed.
Some variants of the Skorpion were made in other calibers, such as .380 ACP and 9 mm, and some were licensed to other countries, such as Yugoslavia and Iraq. The Skorpion was replaced by the CZ Scorpion EVO 3, a modern submachine gun that uses 9 mm ammunition and has a polymer frame, a quad rail, and a selector for single-shot, burst, or full-auto modes.
The Skorpion is a popular weapon among collectors and enthusiasts, and some civilian models are available in semi-automatic mode. It has also been used by various armed groups and criminals in different conflicts and incidents.
