I'd highly recommend you watch Season 1 (or read the first four volumes of Vinland Saga) before approaching this Review. One can't approach this Season without seeing the epic finale of the Prologue of Vinland Saga. So how does Chapter 1 of this Saga hold up?
Keep in mind, this animated series is a Fiction based on an ancient fiction based on Real History, like 300. Take that as you will.
I admit I was in a rush with this review but I got it done at night between the 5th and 6th of July. Join me as I reflect on the Animated Historical Fiction show many people watched every Monday for almost half a year or so.

SPOILERS!

Thorfinn had vowed to gain vengeance on Askeladd for killing his Father, Thors, by killing him in a duel. Years pass and Askeladd dies from Canute's fatal blow to make Canute attain kingship. Devastated by his wasted years of killing countless lives just to try to earn a duel with Askeladd, Thorfinn labours away as a Slave, now a hollow husk with no drive for anything in Life. A Series of events would begin to change Thorfinn's outlook on Life when he's introduced to a new slave named Einar.

Meanwhile, Canute poisons his brothers to further his ambition to be an influential king and sets his eyes on territorial gain as he hires mass armies to invade farmlands.

Will Thorfinn find Meaning in Life after failing to get revenge?
How much blood is Canute willing to shed for his ideal paradise?
Can Einar adjust to slavery and bring sense into Thorfinn?
How will Einar handle his affection towards the Beautiful Arnheid, Farm Master Ketil's favourite slave?
Will Leif Erickson ever find Thorfinn again?
Will Thorfinn be able to conquer the implications of his nightmares?
Is it possible to live and build a land where their are no slaves and wars?
All will be revealed in Vinland Saga Season 2.
