I bought this during the Autumn Sale because I play quite a bit of games in this genre, and saw a post from the developer on Reddit for it. It's simply okay. It doesn't do anything that makes it stand apart from the 100s of games similar to this in the genre, and that's either going to be ok with you or it won't. There's also a very large level of ambiguity with how completing a level works. It's not just staying alive for 12 minutes and killing the 3rd boss of the stage, there's something else that happens and I'm not sure what it is. Is it the curse being too high? There's no way for me to check that, so I have no idea. But I spent 2 hours just trying to finish level 1 before I started using scrolls on minimizing the effects of the curse. And that seems to be it.
Boss battles are rather entertaining as they have attacks that you are dodging instead of just avoiding giant enemies.
There are permanent upgrades you can start to unlock after completing each stage, which you can upgrade with diamonds as you finish a run. The UI isn't particularly clear on how many times you've upgrades, and overall the UI is rather lacking.
When upgrades spells during a run you'll often run into an issue where you can't use a scroll on a specific spell, but there's no indication of this unless you try. It's a minor complaint, but I found it irritating.
No full screen option that I could find. Only 1 music track that I heard over the 4 levels I played through. It feels rather bare bones overall. If you like the genre, I'm sure you could enjoy this.
