Scud Race Force Feedback test
A boring video showing me testing the FFB on a project Scud Race from the service menu, nothing much exciting to see here!
I had so many problems with this cab, it's certainly been the most difficult cab that I've worked on so far.....
When I first got the cab, simply turning the cab on gave me the most obnoxious interference known to man, it was even worse when testing the FFB motor in the service menu!.
The Daytona 2 cab just had hardware issues so was pretty easy to get up and running, the Sega Rally 2 + F355 cabs just had parts missing.....but this cab had wiring issues AND hardware issues which made it frustrating at times.
Aside from the sound issues due to damaged cabling, the bad interference on the screen/through the speakers whenever the FFB motor engaged made the game unplayable and blew components whenever I tested it.
Dodgy crimp pins in the wiring and bad contacts on the earthing cables throughout the cab were the main reasons I had so many issues.
Whilst working on this cab I damaged a working Scud Race stack. The dodgy wiring also killed speakers, 2 Servo boards and I also had a steering wheel motor go up in smoke.
Anyway, it's finally 100% playable and it plays great. :-)
