Scud Race/Sega Super GT Gameplay (Arcade PCB) ***Medium***
I installed Scud Race into the SR2 cab a couple of months ago now, I've been enjoying it so much I've not reinstalled the SR2 cage back into the cab.
This movie is just me enjoying the game for what it is, if you want some high level gameplay then check out the Marubaku Video Channel and check out their Super Play Videos.
The original arcade game was released in 1996 on Model 3 Step 1.5 Hardware. Can you believe it's 20 years since it's original release?! It's true what they say, time flies as you get older......
First things first, it's widely known that Scud Race has quite a steep learning curve, but once you get accustomed to the handling it's such a great game to play. I'm still scratching the surface of what this game has to offer so excuse the messy replay.
The acceleration drift mechanic is sublime, the sharper the angle of the drift the faster the acceleration. But drift too sharply and you can easily spin out.
The risk/reward spin mechanic is quite severe and back when it was first released many people simply walked away from the game in sheer frustration.
In my opinion the weakest part of the game is the AI, they seem to get in the way quite a bit and they don't tend to stray off their path. When you play Daytona USA 2 you can really see how Am2 improved the AI and took it to another level.
Thanks for watching.
