Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO - input lag test
Lots of people say SLRE has terrible input lag when it comes to steering wheels. Some even say that the game is designed like that. Well, as you can hopefully see, I can't agree with that. I'm not saying the people who experience input lag are lying, but it's pretty obvious there's more to it than the lag simply being a definitive part of the game. Yes, there's still a tiny bit of lag, but it's purely visual (it has no impact on the actual driving) and only really noticeable when you do move the wheel really fast like I do here. You'll always have a bit of an input lag anyway - it's unavoidable. Just for the record, I've got the exact same tiny amount of input lag in every other game, including Dirt Rally. The wheel is Logitech Driving Force GT.
I've tried to replicate the issue and make the input lag worse by setting different options, as people sometimes say it has something to do with vsync settings (my default, seen also in this video, is vsync off in game and adaptive vsync in Nvidia panel), but honestly, the only setting which made my input lag worse was when I set the game to half refresh vsync - which is only logical, as it limits the framerate to 30 fps (on my system), so there's bound to be some input lag caused by that alone. Other than that, it was always as you see it in this video, no matter the combination of settings.
