Adding a new game to my VGM remix catalogue: Secret of Mana!
One thing I love about collaboration is it introduces me to new games that someone else holds dearly in their memory!
@TheologyVGM is actually on a journey to remix to entire Secret of Mana soundtrack; now THAT’S dedication!! I’m honored to have worked alongside Theølogy again as part of his “Secret of Mana: Phase 2” album!
Per the Mana Wiki; The Little Sprite is background music that only plays during delivering Salamando from the furnace in the Tropics & after restoring the oasis of Kakkara by giving King Amar III the Sea Hare's Tail. It can be considered Popoi's theme song, even though it never plays specifically during their apparitions.
So...unfortunately how little this specific soundtrack is played, I decided to just record gameplay of the title screen, opening cutscene, and the intro of the game!
Few fun facts about Secret of Mana:
Secret of Mana was originally released in Japan as Seiken Densetsu 2, which released in Autumn 1993 for the SNES. It is the sequel to the 1991 game Seiken Densetsu, released in North America as Final Fantasy Adventure and in Europe as Mystic Quest, and it was the first Seiken Densetsu title to be marketed as part of the Mana series rather than the Final Fantasy series. And last but not least, the soundtrack is composed by Hiroki Kikuta!
