The King of rock & roll has entered the Baz Luhrmann big screen. The first trailer for 2022’s most anticipated biopics. Elvis. has just dropped — and it’s given us more than a taste of Austin Butler as the ’50s heart throb. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor reportedly beat Ansel Elgort. Miles Teller. Harry Styles. and Aaron Taylor Johnson for the iconic role. In more than three minutes. we’re taken through a kaleidoscope of colours. emotions and memories — as well as iconic Elvis Presley jumpsuits — with narrator Tom Hanks. as Presley’s infamous manager Colonel Tom Parker. beginning the trailer with: “Are you born with destiny?” Through flashbacks and sequences. we learn of Elvis Presley’s rise to superstardom — from Memphis boy with a dream to king of the music world. Those curious to see Butler take on the “Hound Dog” singer can do so on June 24 — when the film is scheduled for release.
