We've got another set of 'external artifacts' to gather.
Having won a second set of fights in each of the 'Paths', they mentioned clues to more artifacts out in the world - so we set off on our way.
- The first one was very easy - an ear gathered from the fortune telling puppet in the Dark Cupboard in Nekataka.
- The second was leading, a Titans heart in a fortress of brass. I'm sure the NPC said it was 'to scale, and therefore easy to find'. The quest text said 'you had to infiltrate this fortress'. It clearly referred to The Brass Citadel region of Nekataka; but the only place that required 'infiltrating' and could have reason and room to store a full size titan heart was the powder room. This led to a lot of time spent sneaking around in it that I didn't need to. Turned out it was in a chest in the Fleetmasters Office, as it was a tiny gem rather than a full-scale heart as described; and required no infiltrating.
- The third was by the sole survivor in a harsh desert wasteland. This took me a while but made sense. I visited every island that was desert (rather than grassland or jungle), and the locations on them. However, the Ruins of Poko Kohara is the only map that has a desert area at the 'character level view', rather than world map view. After trying to figure it out, I realised the only living thing was a single palm tree in a small oasis that had had no purpose on a previous visit. That was quite a cool hunt.
As an addendum, whilst looking around the various desert islands, I went bank to a temple of Woedica, and was able to loot a finger off of her statue. This turned out to be another artifact - so I assume there's another set to find after we win more battles.
I got held up by a pirate ship fight as well - vs. quite a tough fellow, with a very cool mace; so the only arena battle we had was 'The Brothers of Book and Branch' - however it was short and almost laughably easy.
