Sega and Gearbox are facing a class action suit over Aliens Colonial Marines. The person suing them, law firm Edelson LLC on behalf of one Damion Perrine, are claiming false advertisement due to the inaccurate demo of Colonial Marines shown at PAX and E3. The rather false nature of the demo shown is well known by know, as it was not representative at all of the gameplay or graphics of Aliens Colonial Marines. It is well known that Gearbox were told to "just go nuts" and not worry about making the demo playable on consoles.
"Unfortunately for their fans, [the] Defendants never told anyone - consumers, industry critics, reviewers, or reporters - that their 'actual gameplay' demonstration advertising campaign bore little resemblane to the retail product that would eventually be sold to a large community of unwitting purchasers," the suit reads.
