Sega Classics Collection Part 6 - Alien Syndrome (PS2)
27Out of all the games in this collection, this game in particular got the biggest overhaul. This is Alien Syndrome. I have removed the loading and short cinemas for your consideration and enjoyment.
To be perfectly honest I never once played the original arcade, not even once. When I got this collection, I sat on this game for the longest time. It wasn't until much much later after I bought this game that I actually tried it. I can't believe I had sat on it for so long. This is clearly the best game on this entire collection and is very fun to play. So I actually played this 3D remake before I even tried the original arcade on MAME. I like this version much much better. This is what a remake should be. They have updated the visuals which all look very nice. They updated the music and sound as well. The best update however is the controls. They adopted the great controls from Smash TV and Robotron which fit perfectly. The boss battles are way way larger scale than they were in the arcade and the game is super bloody almost to the point of being gross.
Apparently from what I've heard this version of Alien Syndrome spanks the pants off the the Alien Syndrome released on the Wii. I don't know first hand since I haven't played the Wii game. It seams to be popular thought though that the Sega Classics Collection version of this game is the one to play.
