[SEGA Genesis] Golden Axe Walkthrough [05] - Stage 5 (Death Adder's Castle)
Walkthrough by Bermy
This is definitely the hardest stage to progress through as there are simply tons of enemies. Use the terrain to your advantage where you can. For example, I charge the skeletons off the edges here as that's quicker and easier than fighting them the traditional way. The goal here is to make it to the end with as much health as possible, as you don't get any more green thieves for the rest of the game.
01:08 - Col. Bitters x2 (Mini-Boss)
You have to fight 2 of them this time. Fortunately, they are just as easy. Use your magic and knock them off screen. Then keep firing away with dragon breath to defeat them while taking 0 damage.
01:46
I intentionally leave some of the magic pots on the ground here as this allows me to use magic twice during the fight with Death Adder.
01:51 - General Heartland (Mini-Boss)
Fortunately, this is another straight forward mini-boss with semi-regular enemies. Try to avoid taking damage while you charge General Heartland as the next part gets tough.
02:56 - Death Adder + 2 Skeletons (Boss)
This is a tough boss battle. The skeletons are relentless and Death Adder dishes out damage. I use magic three times to weaken the skeletons as much as possible and minimize damage that I take. If you are directly across from Death Adder he will do his magic spell that follows the ground in your direction. I do a terrible job at it in this video, but try to charge, then jump and attack when he does this as it will allow you to do a lot of damage. Otherwise, just do jump attacks like I did. I wish I ended up with more than 1 health bar, as that gives me minimal room for error the rest of the way.
