SEGA Mega Drive Modem - Unboxing + Review - Game Toshokan Bundle セガゲーム図書館
A quick look at the modem SEGA released way back in 1990 for the Mega Drive. The device enabled users to play online, download games, access online bank accounts and even turn the console into an answering machine!
The particular pack I unbox in this video is the Game Toshokan bundle (セガゲーム図書館) otherwise known as Game Library. It includes everything that was needed to get players started and connected to SEGA's servers. The service ran from 1990 until 1992 when the servers were shut down. However, many of the games worked on a peer to peer network, so in theory they should still function even today!
