Sega Rally 1 & 2 multi-system comparison
Edit: Once again YouTube has fucked up the video quality of something I've uploaded. I'm not sure why it keeps having these moments of going all pixelated and weird, but it's not in the original video.
A little compilation video, showing a play-through of the Desert and Mountain Stages of Sega Rally 2 on the PC version, Dreamcast and then on the still WIP v2 Supermodel Model 3 emulator. I don't think the difference beween the PC and Dreamcast versions are quite so apparent in the video, but the PC version looks a lot sharper and considerably smoother due to the fact it's running at 60 fps. Also, the PC version supports the vibration feedback drivers for my steering wheel. Bitchin! I follow it up at the end with a quick comparison between the forest stage on the original arcade version of Sega Rally running on Model 2 Emulator and the same stage on the Saturn. My driving on the Desert stage in the Dreamcast video is particularly bad, I was having issues with the transition from steering wheel back to pad. Similarily, I found it really weird going back to an old digital pad for the Saturn version - very easy to over steer. I guess it's just what you get used to, because I can remember back in the old days thinking that the Saturn version's control was absolutely sublime.
