On this episode we are looking back at OutRunners, which is the sequel to OutRun and Turbo OutRun...and the game that helped usher in OutRun 2 and OutRun 2 SP. Its basically video game history on the Sega side as its probably their best 2D sprite scaling at work! The System 3D was an absolute 2D video game powerhouse and it shows.
It always makes me wonder what Sega could have done if they demade Daytona USA or Scud Race on System 32?
I always expected this one to come to Sega Saturn but all we got was a very inferior version of the game on the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive...which was fun but pales in comparison to the arcade PCB. It's definitely an arcade hidden gem and video game hidden gem all rolled up into one!
But for Sega its a very rare and hard to find video game...just how I like em!
