Segmented Breathing - Kapalbhati Pranayama - Breathing Techniques
1. In easy pose, sit with a straight spine and bring the palms together at the level of the heart in prayer.

2. Beneath the closed lids, turn the eyes up and in to the brow point (where the eyebrows would meet).

3. Inhale through the nose in 4 equal strokes (in a sniffing motion) and exhale in 4 equal parts.

4. Continue for three to five minutes.

5. Finally, inhale deeply and press the palms together with maximum force for 10 seconds and exhale. Rest for 15-20 seconds and then repeat the palm pressing sequence twice more.
Essentials You Need To Know

So you’re thinking of beginning a yoga practice, but aren’t sure where to start? Here are some essentials you need to know.

Yoga: the word means union, that is, the union of body, mind and spirit.

There are different types of yoga.
* Hatha Yoga-5,000 years old, thousands of postures
* Kundalini-1,600 years old, postures arranged into sets to harness the energy in your body and mind
* Bikram Yoga-hot yoga, a modern invention, 26 poses only, done in a hot, humid studio 80 degrees or more. Bikram is very strenuous, so be careful of dehydration and heart issues.

Benefits

There are many benefits for body, mind and spirit of a yoga practice:

Yoga poses=Asanas

Yoga poses can be done by anyone of any age provided you are safe and sensible, and listen to your body.

The types of poses are:
* standing
