You decided to visit the seemingly-stayed-in-eternal-moonlight-bath town, known as Lumina. Here, you met a siren named Monique, she has problem with selling her lamps and started to think about moving out to find better place for selling her lamps. It's when an unknown centaur-like poet entered the lamp shop interfering both of you. After this centaur--named Gilbert--persuaded Monique to not moving out, he decided to help her to sell her lamps. Apparently he ALSO can't sell them all and asked you instead to sell half of the share. Of course, you accepted the offer, and here started your first day (and probably the last) as a lamp merchant.
