Remember that showcase video I did? Well guess what. I've decided to go for it and pull off a playthrough of the game. I welcome you to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This playthrough is also dedicated to a fellow YouTuber and friend, Casey Thornton aka D3ityCthulhu.
If you remember my playthrough of Nioh and the Nioh 2 Alpha, then you know what this game is about. In this game, it focuses on a ninja who was raised to protect a child. It starts as a simple mission to get him out and to safety only for him to fail and to lose his arm in the process. Eventually he meets up with someone who gives him a prosthetic arm. And now his job is to fight and find a way to hopefully recover the kid.
Sekiro is similar to Dark Souls but with a lot of differences. One being that you don't have to worry about Stamina. What you need to focus on is Posture. Think of the Posture as the Guard meter from Street Fighter Alpha 3. As you attack, you damage the enemy's posture meter and once it's full, their guard is broken. This allows you to deliver a killing blow. You aren't limited to just guard breaking. There are many ways to deliver the Deathblow. Sometimes you got to be stealthy and stealth attacks help. They always do. Not only that but you can also jump and do air attacks. The possibilities are endless but you will need it all if you are to survive.
And yes, expect to die... a lot. However there is another gimmick this game has, Resurrection. If you die you have the choice of either staying dead or resurrecting. If you resurrect, you will have to strike hard if you want to ensure you stay alive. But there is a drawback. If you die too much, you will get a Rot Essence and that leads to a sidequest where you need to cure it. It can stall your progress so don't be careless. But as you can tell here, I have been very careless. That's what I get for being a careless ass. What can you do?
So yeah, we will continue our trek in Part 2 of this playthrough. Whether you guys like it or not, know that this is my channel and I upload what I want. It isn't for everyone so yeah, at least I am letting you know this.
