Screw this one. Demon of Hatred takes so long to kill, he's not even that hard to me anymore, I had several runs where I used a single gourd on him. He just takes so long to kill. Inner Father is a dbag and I have skill issue and I don't care, I hate him. His raven feather attack is annoying, not because it punishes R1 spam, but because he can chain it back to back and because due to it's nature as a double slash if you get guard broken by it you basically just die instantly since the second hit will hit you during vulnerability frames. This was the only fight where I ever felt like I needed to utilize the largely under used mechanic of guarding in place to restore posture. Huge lifesaver doing that was. In part, I appreciate this fight for being so different from the original and forcing me to use a rarer and less used mechanic to its full potential to win the fight. On the other hand fuck this guy and his double slash instant kill you off one mistimed deflect bullshit. I find him to be the hardest boss in the game, harder than Isshin. He can just off you so quickly without much warning.
