So, the last time I worked with the Amiga (and, by extension, the MOD format), it was back in 2018. That was 7 years ago! I figured that, after gaining an understanding of how to sample anything for the MOD format following a revisit to my only two complete MOD tunes, I would make something for it. This song is a remake of a DefleMask arcade tune I wrote back in 2017, which I ported to the NES+Namco 163 in 2018 for an album that I have since decommissioned from my Bandcamp. If I remember correctly, I never released the arcade original outside of the DefleMask forum. As such, I figured it was time that I revisit it. I will say, I now find it fun to sample stuff for the MOD format, as I do remember the first time I tried working with it in 2017, I was frustrated with how the samples sounded after saving and reloading OpenMPT (though I would later use a tool someone shared that helped me to load up stuff for the MOD format).
As for the song itself, I recall wanting to make a main menu type of music. For this remake, I opted to extend the song by adding a second part and a closing section before the loop. I had fun revisiting this old tune of mine.
The revisited song was composed using OpenMPT v1.32.02.00, and is being played back in the modern ProTracker 2.3D clone.
