On Thursday, The Dow Jones dropped nearly 7% in a day, The S&P 500 Nearly 6% and The NASDAQ just over 5%. A lot of people are afraid of the "Market Crash 2.0" coming and wiping away all of the profits that have been gained these last 6+ weeks.
There are a lot of new investors in the market, Robinhood has seen 300% more activity so far this year than it did at the end of 2019. With such a surge of new investors a surge in volatility was sure to follow to some extent at the very least!
I am a long term investor, so personally these red days aren't too worrying to me. They're going to happen many many times in the decades to come. Your growth stocks will lose value sometimes. Your dividend stocks might have to cut their dividends sometimes. Your spec stocks will go crazy sometimes. Have a plan and stick to it.
