Well now, something I've really been itching to do for a long time is finally getting started. I was waiting for the latest translation update before getting this show on the road.

Seraphic Blue is one damn fine RPG I must say. Interesting characters, good story & music, lots of customization chances, and a solid battle system.

So what do we have to kick off the adventure? A 40 minute intro. Yes, the intro takes that long to get past.

Basically, there's a VIP in a residence, she walks around doing things, then eventually gets freed by people from the OHG, a group we'll be hearing more about down the road.

The game really begins when control switches to our first real party member, Lake.

Lake is pretty balanced early on, being able to dish out solid physical hits or roast some enemies with damaging magic. As the game progresses though, he will be better suited to sticking his sword into every enemy that gets in his way.

Story-wise, Lake is a Devil Sweeper. Devil Sweepers are basically bounty hunters that quell the rising amount of Devils in the world for money. Most don't deal with small missions...except for Lake. He takes on every job he can get his hands on.

After some chatter with local quack doctor Langer, Lake gets a lv1 Curative sphere. Equip this right away along with going to the supplement tab to set it to auto refill HP & TP after each fight.

The supplement system...think of it like E-Tanks from the Mega Man series in a way that you can draw from whenever you are not in battle. The reserves can be refreshed at any inn or with Resurrect Spheres, but the latter can only be used at specific points. The max amounts can be boosted by battling obviously.

After some easy fights, there's more chatter and you have free control at last!

For now, the item shop in Turku should be visited as there are a ton of things you can buy.

Weapons should be obvious. You could buy a new weapon, but Lake's Short Sword will do him well for now.

Armor though is something you need to buy...and there's several types available. For now though, Lake gets a Bronze Mail. Mails have high Def, but low MDef.

I also grab a Bronze Shield & Greaves. These two items are something for the Sphere System which lets you have a lot of customization possibilities for your characters. How many spheres you can equip is determined by the armor you have equipped.

There are four kinds of spheres. The Curative sphere from earlier belongs to the Ability group which just gives various spells depending on the kind of ability sphere equipped (Attack, Curative, or Support) and its level. Each character has a maximum level for each type of Ability sphere they may equip. Lake's are rather low compared to the next party member you get in a couple dungeons.

The Bronze Shield & Greaves belong the Guard group. Basically, stat boosters. The shield gives a large boost to Def while the greaves boost Def, Agl, and Dex.

More to be explained next video!
