Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow following the Victory Day celebrations on May 9, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. During their bilateral meeting, Vucic emphasized the shared responsibility between Serbia and Russia to "prevent the revision of history," praising the solemnity of the Victory Parade and expressing gratitude for Russia's hospitality.
Putin, in turn, acknowledged Serbia's historic role in fighting Nazism and reaffirmed the deep strategic partnership between the two countries. The Russian leader also praised Serbia's independent stance in international affairs and their cooperation based on mutual respect and benefit.
Despite calls from Ukraine and Western allies to avoid the event, around 30 world leaders, including Vucic, attended the parade alongside foreign troops from 13 friendly nations.
