5There are some parts this game does do well. I really enjoyed the freezing mechanic, and especially the UI indicator for it with the ice closing in on the screen. It's a good visual indicator so you KNOW it's happening, and it doesn't ultimately obscure that much since you focus really is the center of the screen. The mechanic itself too of having to go find warm places works. I liked it, well done. The boss fights were both a mixed bag. I didn't mind the collecting ammo and using the ballista on the dragon, but his ability to just randomly fling you off the map to your death was awful. For Hugo, he first part that was just a run to the helicopter, with the RNG where he could just choose to end you for no reason if he fires rockets that cannot be dodged, isn't fun. The helicopter portion, where again you did have to collect ammo, worked. This game's vehicle controls are fairly sloppy, but it worked well in the helicopter.
