Strict timing but genuinely useful for some characters, in particular Nina. It unfortunately rarely leads to combos but always gives you a ton of time to safely bring the other character in, get your counter-hit and set something up.

To be honest I never expected the Air-to-ground throws to be cancel-able (in the case of Akuma, Cammy etc) but they were.
