Shable (Shelf/Table) Build featuring bullet-time-lapse
I designed an end table that could raise itself up at the push of a secret button to access shelves that would not normally be accessible in the lowered position due to its placement between two chairs.
I mostly just wanted to film time lapse, lol. But I got a cool table out of it. Got to flex my brain muscle designing the latch system and counterweights. And creating the sun burst was a challenge. I was surprised it worked as well as I imagined it would while I designed it. Speaking of which, I designed the whole thing using Google SketchUp, a free 3D modeling/CAD program. Its not as great as Autocad, but its free and works great for prototyping.
Typical projects at work involve "paint this", "fix that", and "don't fall off that ladder". This was a nice change of pace getting to make decisions about the project I was working on.
Special thanks to Milapse for showing off the panning telescope head and inspiring me to add motion to my time lapses.
If you have interest in time lapsing, or want to see more great videos, check out the forums at Timescapes.org.
Thanks for watching, hope you had fun. Let me know what you think, what I could do better, what I did well. I'm always open to criticism. Feel free to subscribe, but I don't make a lot of videos and I don't only do time lapse.
