Shadow of the Beast TurboGrafx 16 Gameplay | Shadow of the Beast 1 TG16 | CDPOG
We play the original Shadow of the Beast for the Turbografx 16! Well technically, this Shadow of the Beast Gameplay video is for the Turbografx CD, but whos counting! In this playthough video for Shadow Of the Beast 1, we run around and punch monsters in their faces. We also find a key or something and beat a boss or two. We of course die many many times and turn into a pile of bones. ALL SHE LEFT ME WAS MY BONES.
Shadow of the Beast is a very interesting platforming action game from 1989, it was released on a huge number of platforms including the Genesis. Shadow of the Beast is basically about a dude who gets turned into a beast, so he has to punch a million monsters to get turned back into a human. Makes Sense. The game is very odd, with a mixture of interesting and colorful enemies, drab backgrounds, slightly cumbersome controls, and one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard in a game. I was actually shocked at how good it was. The games difficulty is a bit all over the map, with some enemies making cheap hits on the player. Overall I still enjoyed my time with Shadow of the Beast, and think it is a title that many gamers have overlooked over the years.
I should note that this gameplay video is for the original Shadow of the Beast from 1989, not the new one that just came out in 2016...as I think the new one is supposed to be a stinker.
I would rate Shadow of the Beast 4 out of 5 Beast Punches.
