Synopsis

I am glad I came across this game. I never played this game, nor did I ever own a Genesis 32X. The Genesis 32X was an add on to the Sega Genesis to make it a 32 bit system. The problem was that it was released rather too late being released in late 1994, and in the following year the Sega Saturn was released.

The Sega 32X was inferior to its competition, like the Sony Playstation, and the 3DO which were 32 bit systems that existed at the time the Sega 32X was released. At the same time, the Sega Saturn was released in Japan in the same year the Sega 32X was released. The system could have worked if developers were willing to create games for it, but it never materialized. Why would they do that with the Saturn coming out the very next year. As a result, the Sega 32X was a total commercial failure.

Shadow Squadron was a very good game, but if you compare it to a Sega Saturn game, it doesn't have a chance. This game demonstrates that the Sega 32X was better than the 16 bit Genesis, but it was vastly inferior to the Sega Saturn in every way. Sega always had the problem of releasing their console systems too quickly, and it ended in disaster, like the Dreamcast.
