This is some gameplay for the PS1 game Shadow Tower. I'm playing it on a PS2 with texture smoothing and fast loading on.

This is not an official King's Field game, but it's one made by the same developer, and has a similar feel. This is one of the later From Software games that was inspired by King's Field. Like King's Field, it too was murdered in the reviews from reviewers who never took the time to try to understand the game before murdering it for not being what they thought it should be. However, admittedly, this game isn't for everyone.

It's a first person dungeon crawl RPG, and like King's Field put the emphasis on crawl. The same complaints apply. Though it runs faster then King's Field (but takes away the ability to sprint), it's still too slow for twitch gamers. There is also no music throughout the game which either makes it even more boring to some, or more atmospheric to others.

This is my actual first playthrough of the game. I tested it previously, and even tried playing it right before I took this footage, but died. This game is harder than the KF games. At least from what I've played which isn't much, but it definitely starts out a lot more challenging than KF. At least KFII.

Since it's my first playthrough sorry if I take a little more time in the menu than needed to read the descriptions of the items. Also this is my first 15 minute gameplay vid. I've still been holding to the old 10 minute mark, because I figured that most people barely have the attention span to sit through a full 10 minute gameplay vid, let alone a 15 minute one.

I'll probably keep mainly to 10 minutes tops int he future unless I'm making a specific vid that would require more time like a montage, or a playthough or something like that.


This game never hit Europe.It was just Japan, and US only, and it's PS2 sequel was Japan-only.
