Which is Best?! These are two of the best screen recorders for gamers. Why? Because they both have the replay / loop option. Lot of people don't understand what shadow / replay mode even means, they think that "oh i use fraps" "oh i use bandicam" .. bla bla, it's not about recording your screen, it's about the replay mode, where it's always recording, but does not save the clips.

Imagine you want to make a fails compilation or funny moments compilation, with fraps you have to record your entire gaming session, which takes bout 1 - 4tb of disk space, depending on how long your gaming session is, while Shadowplay and Raptr can only record the moment you want.
It records into a temporary file and then overwrites it over and over, without wasting any disk space. If something cool happens, you hit a button and it saves past 1 - 20 minutes of gameplay (depending on what option you selected).

NEVER miss those epic moments with Shadowplay or Raptry.
Even tho fraps has loop option too, it's very basic and not suitable for gaming really.

As an extra, you can create RAMdrive for temporary recordings, so that it won't kill your SSD / HDD with constant recording, see how to setup RAM drive here:
