Alice mentioned that during her run in the matrix, looking for the information we assigned her to find, she was hunted down by an AI known as APEX. The experience was so traumatizing she decided this will be her last job, at least for a while, trying to lay low in order to escape the heat. It's obvious that before we head back to the Harfeld Manor, we need to deal with this APEX.
