Shadowrun: Hong Kong was developed and published by Harebrained Schemes in 2015 as their third game of the Shadowrun trilogy, based on the Shadowrun universe.
Shadowrun: Hong Kong is a video game featuring tactical turn-based combat, great storytelling and many unique characters. Players control a squad of shadowrunners in a dystopian futuristic setting with strong science-fiction and high-fantasy elements in the late (but not too distant) 21st century. The genre is best described as cyberpunk fantasy. Magic is back, and technology has developed further as well. The interface between man and machine has been invented and people can send their minds to the matrix, the future internet. Transnational mega-corporations dominate the world. In their shadows new cultures and creatures thrive.
Survival in this unforgiving ever changing new world is the main goal of the ordinary shadowrunner. If they make money or become famous runners - even better.
Shadowrun: Hong Kong is the third game in a series of three (so far). The first game was Shadowrun Returns (find an introduction and my review here: https://youtu.be/ZIAGyDovmhY), the second is Shadowrun: Dragonfall (find an introduction and my review here: ).
In this Let's Look we will see some gameplay of the game's first phase on hard difficulty. I will explain the world of Shadowrun and give an introduction to the game's mechanics. In the end of this video after a spoiler alert I will present my character that let me experience many aspects of the game in just one playthrough, also after the bonus campaign.
I can clearly recommend this game to anyone who likes a deep environment and convincing atmosphere in a game, good writing, an excellent story and turn-based tactical combat.
