Shalgam Ka Bharta Recipe - Boiled and mashed shalgam cooked with other bharta ingredients

Ingredients for Shalgam Ka Bharta

Turnips (shalgam) boiled and mashed2 medium

Oil 1 1/2 tablespoons

Garlic chopped10-12 cloves

Onions sliced finely2 medium

Ginger chopped1 inch

Tomatoes finely chopped 1 medium

Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

Green chillies finely chopped2-3

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds. Add garlic and onion and saute till light brown.

Step 2

Add tomatoes, ginger, red chilli powder and green chillies and saute for three to four minutes.

Step 3

Add shalgam and salt and mix well and cover and cook for five minutes.

Step 4

Add half of the coriander leaves and cook for two minutes.

Step 5

Serve hot garnished with remaining coriander leaves.
