This is a series I've only gotten into about a year and a half ago. It started with me checking out a let's play of Shantae Half-Genie Hero and very quickly deciding to play through the entire series. This first game is very well crafted for its age, coming out towards the end of the Game Boy Color lifespan. This game really pushes the system to its limit, so much that just emulating this game is a monumental task. This game looks amazing for its age, but I'm not so sure about the gameplay at least compared to the later Shantae games. Let's take a crack at this game and see how it fairs, having played the more recent games.
