Shaolin [PS1] - play as Demon with Boss style
This is a demonstration of Demon with his Boss style in the PS1 game Shaolin / Lord of Fist. Read on below for more information...
First of all, you need to know that this game has a large number of characters... but they are all just models. The 'true' character select comes in the form of the 6 fighting styles you can choose from - so technically you get 6 different playable 'characters'.
Demon is the final boss you face in the Jeet Kune Do story mode. When you fight him, he uses a completely unique 7th fighting style. This fighting style is used exclusively for the CPU final bosses, which I'll refer to it as the Boss style.
Demon is an unlockable playable character model, however, the Boss fighting style mode (the 7th fighting style) is non-selectable.
Therefore by using alternative methods to select the Boss style, you are technically controlling an unplayable character.
===== About the Boss style =====
The Boss style seems to have a mixture of the other 6 regular style's moves, but I do think there are some completely unique moves in it that I haven't seen in the other regular styles. The standing stance of this style is definitely unique.
===== Additional Information =====
---- The game is known as Lord of Fist in Japan.
---- The game was only released in Japan and Europe. There is no US version of the game.
---- On the character select screen, when you select the Boss style, the graphics icon for it is flawed. This is obviously because this style is not meant to be selected by the player.
---- If you use Demon with Boss style in Versus mode and win a match, then for some reason after the winning pose it locks the game.
---- As mentioned earlier, there are a few completely unique moves you get in this Boss style that you don't get within the other 6 regular styles.
===== About Shaolin =====
Shaolin is a cool game which combines the elements of an RPG and fighting game. The game is set in China and you basically have 6 stories (each of them being the 6 different fighting styles) to choose from and play through for story mode. You start off as a kid, and grow up as you progress! The fighting parts of the game definitely require strategy, time, patience and leveling up to be successful.
