Shape BEATS Rhythm Pattern Practice With 1, 2, and 3 Sounds for Elementary Music
6Using basic shapes as rhythm icons, elementary music students perform the 4 and 8 beat patterns to a fun hip hop beat. Great for students in Prek, kindergarten, grade 1, and grade 2! Perform with body percussion or small percussion instruments.
š¹ Objectives:
To explore words with 1, 2, and 3 sounds.
To identify basic shapes
To perform rhythms accurately, maintaining a steady beat
š¹ Notes:
-There are 4 and 8 beat patterns.
-All patterns are repeated 4 times
-āDiamondā uses a 2-syllable rhythm
-Speak the name of the shape as you perform with body percussion or small percussion instruments
-An extension would be to call the shapes by their colors.
