Shattered Tale of the Forgotten King | Part 1 | Playthrough
--- Come check the game out, get a feel in what the game looks like, and how the gameplay is.

The game starts slow, it gets confusing in wondering what is going on but i guess you are saving some mysterious King, and memories are lost. You regain bits and pieces of memories but a lot of them dont make sense.

The controls seem okay but the blocking feature is very annoying. Your character executes the Block but its quick while your enemy is moving real slow or real fast. You want to time it right but as you try to hit Q, its too long. Its unpredictable and by the time you figure out the timing, you are almost dead, you killed the bad guy or you are already dead.

Healing items are scarce. They gave me like 4 healing items, i had to use 3 of them to survive. Once you use them up, thats it. I just started the game and i havent seem any more of these HP recovery items. You do get to heal from the saving or should i say the most annoying save ive ever had to deal with. You touch it and it has to stop the game to load "Momento"..and then you are back. Every stinkin time you touch to save or touch to recover hp, momento...ugh its so annoying. Once you do touch the thing to save, all of the guys you killed are back. You have to deal with them again, you get hit, lose HP, and you have to go touch the save to recover again, those bad guys are back.

There is a tutorial in the beginning but only how to use your controls. There is no word on if there are stats. Apparently there are and if i didnt go around the map and combed it out, i wouldnt have found this stat pole thing. I was able to get 7 points and put it in. Once you press OK, it doesnt do anything. It makes it like nothing happened. I closed it, and went back and it registed the points but i had no idea if it did or not. I got no approval if it did. The 2D camera rotate, turning that section into a platformer, i didnt understand why. WHY? Its sideways but the controlling is 10x worse than Crash Bandicoot. At least that game has much better controls, not trying to give Activision any credit but its better. When you do your heavy attack, it takes sooo long for the character to cast another attack. By then you are hit 2-3 times if it didnt kill the enemy, if it didnt kill you already. A lot of the items you get feel like they are useless. They do something but you dont have a clue.

I started to feel a little bored because i kept killing the enemies over and over after i already killed them. I felt progression was slow, and im asking myself, where are the Bosses? I want fresh new enemies but i have no healing items, and when i did, they only healed a quarter of your health.

The good thing about it, the visuals, and 3D looks great. The music is not bad. I wouldnt want to hear it all day but its not bad. The compositing (smoke and sparks etc) look pretty decent. I like it but thats all i can think of. The visuals is great.

I would only recommend this game if it were on sale. At least you get what you pay for. Its priced at $30 which ok but i was hoping for some good combat, and this game does not have that. It has combat but its nothing compare to even games that arent like Dark Souls have much better combat that this.

Thats my review, buy it but wait for it to either be on sale or buy it if you have a lot of patience, and you wont flip your keyboard when you die from something stupid because you will get that. Just because a game makes you die 50x and has the look of Dark Souls, doesnt make it like Dark Souls. Its slow paced, and you HAVE TO look and map out the level or you might miss something thats important.
