Sheik - Melee Event 51 The Showdown (No stock loss)
21Despite being one of the best characters in Melee, and having a really good aerial game, Sheik is pretty bad at The Showdown. The first major hindrance is her poor reach, which makes it difficult for her to deal with multiple opponents at once, especially when Giga Bowser is there. Another is that her aerials are very low in base knockback, so Giga Bowser has to be around 40% before you can safely attack him with aerials (otherwise you have to somehow get inside him and spam tilts to safely rack up damage at low percents). Sheik additionally has a lot of trouble killing Giga Bowser; Giga Bowser will usually get hit by the second much weaker blow of up smash, which negates the knockback of the first hit and will allow Giga Bowser to take up smashes well over 100%, and his great recovery can allow him to survive fair to much higher damages than other characters can, especially if he isn't near the edge. Sheik also can't escape through them to get out of pressure well, and she'll die quickly, with her rather light weight and poor recovery that can't hug FD's ledges.
This is exacerbated by me being terrible with Sheik, and as such I play really safe once Giga Bowser is dead, especially at the end when Mewtwo had a charged Shadow Ball that would have easily kill me.
